You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
Thank you for joining the Sarasota Vegetarian & Vegan meetup group. I am the organizer, but it is a community participation effort. Everyone in the group has unique talents and experiences for us all to drawn on.
We created this group in an effort to continue the conversation with each other about veganism. It's a long road of learning, growing, thinking, and challenging yourself. It's fun with support and people to bounce ideas off.
I will be sure to make you feel welcome at your first event. Come up to me and say hi.
Being vegan allows me to feel connected to all forms of life. I make daily decisions that effect the well being of the world around me. The food I buy, the clothes I wear are all daily financial decisions. I choose not to assume companies have strong ethics but to research and decide for myself. I believe exploiting animals for food, clothing, or entertainment is morally wrong. I use my daily decisions to choose to not financially support businesses that do so.
This is a conversation we all are figuring out together. How to be vegan in a non-vegan world? There are many stops on the journey. The important part is to not stop. Keep letting your curiosity lead you around.
How do you do that? You make time in your schedule to attend our events, meet us, ask questions, eat awesome food. Fall in love with food like you never have before. Have fun! Be confident, you are in charge of your resources. Use them wisely.
We maintain www.vegsarasota.com to keep people up to date on veg happenings around town and the world. If you want to be fully up to date on events, type in your email address in the mailing list box at www.vegsarasota.com. Not everything makes it to meetup.
