NOTE: The food is usually very good here, and this event typically attracts an older, more of a conservative-type crowd (with the exception of many of our members in attendance, their friends, and a handful of others). There is a speaker each month, and the speaker may 1)be interesting/informative (depending on the listener); 2)he/she (sometimes) may be promoting a healthful or quasi-healthful product/service for purchase; and 3)may also promulgate religious propaganda during the course of any given talk. Some of our members have complained about the content of these lectures, especially (when applicable) the religious overtones of some of them. (And the fact that the Vegetarian Society did not warn them, in advance, of the nature of some of the talks... However, we have no control over the content of them. Nor do we sanction any of the products/services discussed that might be promoted in any of the talks.) If you're sensitive to such things, I suggest you make yourself very scarce at that time. There's always safe refuge somewhere on the property where people gather away from the action. - Steve

Join us as at Diane's for her Annual VEGAN Potluck and Wine Party at her place in Phoenix! The potluck will be VEGAN, so bring your own favorite VEGAN food and beverage to share with others!

Show up as early as 5:30pm, though eating won't likely start before 6pm. Call Diane at the number listed if you have any questons or need directions.

And don't worry about being late, because this party has been known to go on into the wee hours...

Join us for our first official group event on the patio at Zpizza in downtown Phoenix to sample the new tantalizing, zesty, and ultra-VEGAN cheese made from cassava root (NOT soy)! This new cheese looks like the non-Vegan alternative and has a similar texture. You be the judge: Join us and experience it in all its glory firsthand! (See posted picture of an actual Zpizza with the new cheese. Click on the picture for a close-up view.)

Zpizza offers a variety of VEGAN specialty pizzas, available on whole-wheat crusts, as well as beer and fountain drinks. There is also a terrific VEG sandwich available, as well as salads, pasta, and a VEG calzone!

We will be pre-ordering a number of different VEGAN pizzas on whole-wheat crust and members will pay by the slice. And we will continue to order additional pizza(s) during the event as demand dictates. Or you can order your own food and pay separately.

Pizza by the slice costs just $2.50 ($2.71 with tax), or two slices with a 20 oz fountain beverage for $6.25 ($6.77 with tax). A two-slice/beer special is slightly more.

NOTE: parking on downtown streets is not FREE until 8pm. You can either pop a few coins into a nearby street meter or take the light rail to the venue. The nearest stop is one block north at Van Buren.
