Introduction

Hello everyone... I was looking for some really good vegan restaurants, and a way to socialize with cool vegan / vegetarian people. Make lots of new friends who enjoy great food, find out about really good restaurants, and have some fun...

Are you vegan, vegetarian, veg-curious, ...?

Yep. (Vegan, Strictly) I follow it primarily for health reasons, although I also think the environmental and other benefits are substantial. At this point in my life I don't think I could bring myself to do it any other way.

How/why/when did you become veg*n?

Raised Vegetarian, decided in my early teens that it was obviously healthier to be vegan, took about a year to change my habits. I have been reading labels ever since...

What interests or issues are important to you?

Photography, Martial Arts, Ice Skating, Reading, Sci-Fi, Skiing, Rock Climbing, canoing, hiking, swimming, computers of course, video games, board games, hanging out with friends & doing assorted things, and all sorts of other things.

How did you find out about VegKC and/or this meetup group?

I visited my Mom, and she found/took me to the Chicago Diner vegan restaurant... we dropped by and it was awesome, surrounded by vegans + great food! I borrowed her computer once back and searched in KC, found VegKC & the meetup group! Ever Since...

It's great, I would be very sad if I hadn't found out about it ;) It is really nice to meet a bunch of interesting new people who love hanging out and eating the same kind of delicious foods. I've found out about all kinds of great restaurants, I wish I had found out about even sooner.
