Imagine it...an entire Thanksgiving dinner where you can eat *everything,* knowing every single dish is completely vegan. And most of the preparation is done for you!! That's right, it's here again! VegKC's third annual Thanksgiving feast!

I know you're excited! (Who isn't?) For those of you who attended previous Thanksgiving potlucks, they were AMAZING, weren't they?? Once again, this year we're going to have an awesome cruelty-free, vegan Thanksgiving meal with all your favorite vegan and vegetarian friends. Because we want to have a wide variety of dishes (and because we want to make sure we have enough Tofurky and beverages for everyone), you *must* RSVP to attend this potluck!!!

IMPORTANT TIPS: When you RSVP, remember to say what dish you're bringing in the comments section! If you don't know exactly, put a category (e.g., pasta dish, veggie dish, dessert, etc.). Look at what everyone else is bringing before you decide what to bring. Also, be sure to say how many guests you're bringing.

You can bring as many people as you want (and kids are welcome!), but you should bring a dish for every 2 - 3 guests (including yourself). You're welcome to bring the entire family along--but feel free to just bring yourself, too. Lots of us will be loners--it's a great way to meet new friends!

--------------------------------------------------

>> WHEN DOES IT START?

Some of us who need to finish cooking (Tofurkies, etc.) will probably arrive around 4pm. The festivities officially begin around 5:00, and we'll probably start eating 6:00 PM. Due to the nature of this special holiday meal, we ask that anyone arriving after 7:00 PM bring dessert instead of a dinner dish.

--------------------------------------------------

>> WHERE IS IT AND HOW DO I GET THERE?

The potluck is going to be at Steve Tarver's house, which is near 127th & Quivira and has plenty of room for everyone. If you need directions, contact Steve Tarver: Click the mail/envelope icon next to Steve's name in the RSVP list, and then email him asking for directions. He'll send you the goods.

>> WHAT DO I BRING?

FOOD: If you need recipe ideas, check out:
VegWeb Thanksgiving Recipes (http://vegweb.com/ind...)

Any dish should be big enough to feed 8 people. If you think you've got a spectacular dish and you want everyone to have some, be ready to feed around 40 people. Remember to bring a dish for every 2-3 people (including yourself) that you bring with you.

We're providing the drinks (coffee, tea, water, and soda pop) and the main course (Tofurky® with gravy, stuffing/dressing, and roasted potatoes/onions/carrots). You bring a tasty side dish or dessert. Some recommendations: cranberry sauce, Silk® Nog, acorn squash, garlic mashed potatoes (we never have enough!), pumpkin soup, yams and apples, rice pilaf, bean salad, green bean casserole, carrot cake, rolls, corn salad, pumpkin pie, fruit salad, etc.

RECIPE/INGREDIENTS LIST: Remember that everything must be vegan (no dairy, no eggs, no honey, no animal products of any kind). PLEASE bring your ingredients lists (or recipes) with you. We'll have many gluten-free and raw members coming, so we encourage you to bring gluten-free or raw dishes if you are familiar with those foods and enjoy making them.

SERVING UTENSILS: Remember to bring serving utensil(s) for your dish(es).

FOOD WARMER/HEATING TRAY: Because this is a special event, we expect to have a lot of heated foods that need to stay heated throughout the evening--so we'll have extension cords and plenty of outlets for all of your crockpots, etc. If you're just bringing a dish that needs to stay warm that *isn't* in a crockpot, we'll also have a few heating trays you can sit them dishes on to keep the food warm--but they'rs only room for a few dishes, so if you own one a food warmer, you'll probably want to bring it along.

--------------------------------------------------

>> WHAT IF I'M NEW?

Don't worry, there's always new people who are in the same boat as you. You're welcome to bring a friend or two with you. We'll happily welcome everyone. Even omnivores are welcome--only the dishes have to be vegan! :-)

>> WHAT IF I'M STILL CONFUSED AND I HAVE QUESTIONS?

Then contact us! info @ vegkansascity.com

We can't wait to see everyone--it's going to be a blast!
